Various audio warnings are incorporated into some aircraft systems and used to indicate specific conditions and/or malfunctions.

These audio systems can be tested by depressing the TEST button for the annunciator panel.

When the TEST button is depressed and the power levers are retarded to flight idle or the flap selector handle is selected below the APPR position the Landing Gear Warning horn will sound intermittently.

The landing gear warning horn is controlled by both the power levers and the flap selector switch.

The landing gear warning horn sounds intermittently when either or both power levers are retarded below approx. 1/8 inch forward of the flight idle detent with the landing gear in any position except DOWN and LOCKED.

Either power lever can be checked while depressing the TEST button on the annunciator panel by moving either lever rearward of this position.

The landing gear warning horn can be silenced by depressing the HORN DISABLE button located adjacent to the landing gear selector switch.

The HORN DISABLE switch will not cancel the landing gear warning horn when more than APPR flap is selected and the landing gear is in any position except DOWN and LOCKED.

If a steep descent is conducted at flight idle power it may be necessary to silence the landing gear warning horn using the HORN DISABLE button.

The landing gear warning horn will be automatically reset once the power levers are advanced beyond 1/8 inch forward of the flight idle detent.
